This LIFE is semi-retired.

Hi! I'm updating this space to tell you guys that this second, seemingly, kinda, sort of unsuccessful attempt at deeply documenting my thoughts I call a blog will now be semi-retired. Facebook status updates and tweeting are a lot easier these days to blab about things like my views on life, society, and current events. Blogging, however, takes a little bit of thought. Heck, even THIS pinned post takes a while to be typed too.

The NARNIA division, however, I shall try and actively live it up; where I'll say good or crappy things about films, TV series, music, video games, events, or literature I have read... if this lazy-leech thing ever comes off of my brain, that is. 'Till then.

Flashback thoughts #1: On '8 Mile' and 'タイヨウのうた (Taiyou no Uta).'

An edited excerpt of this entry:
Just search what the movies are about on Google, okay? Or watch it for God's sake.

To make it clear, the reason why I compare these two movies was probably because both of the leads of their respective movies (Eminem and YUI) can really portray their characters well. AND because they were smart enough to accept their roles and because what could possibly be better and more enjoyable than acting (partly) as yourself?

I think both of them knows that doing something else that's not really their true identities could be a big pain in the arse, so it's wise of them to act only if the characters were really based on themselves. I enjoyed both of these movies because both Eminem and YUI react naturally upon the scenarios thrown at them because they would have probably gone through the same shits in their past lives, which is good so that they can avoid themselves from being harshly criticised by film critics or the public by saying these musicians' acting is a fake one. From how I see things, I think it's better for the so-called singers that decided to become a movie star to actually study their roles first when they got the script. If the character is just not you AT ALL, even for one tiny bit, then the hell with that! Or there's always that talent and passion for acting and do well with it if the musicians have that.

To simply put it; actors ACT, while musicians SING or COMPOSE SONGS, NOT sing AND act.

In a nutshell, I just watched 8 Miles last night, and I think it's one of the movies that should receive a standing ovation, if it weren't for the needless love scene between Eminem and Brittany Murphy (Kim Basinger's love scene is hot enough, that all the other love scenes should be deleted!). When I watched Eminem acted, it reminded me of YUI, because both of them looks so natural in the movie. They don't have to pretend to be who they're not. WE should be like that too. We should be ourselves, and to do that is to love ourselves first. I think that is why I like these kinds of superstars.

Flashback story #2: I was there before things get rowdy in 2007.

Unlike the previous 'Flashbacks', this one has never been published on my previous blog or any of my social accounts. But, this was however, closely related to THIS ENTRY on my old blog (that entry itself is a flashback), where it happened back in 2007.

So, I submitted my money order for the official Malaysian YUI-Lover t-shirt, right? Since Facebook was practically either in beta stage, not invented yet or no one gave a crap about it at the time, it was announced that on the November 25th on the good old YUI-Lover.com that the said date would be the day where the t-shirt I ordered must be collected (well, it's not like it's compulsory for me to get it at the time, but if I didn't take the chance, I would never have another one ever again... and also, it will burn my dad's money) when it was also my chance to meet fellow Malaysian YUI Lovers for the first time ever. Well, if you're the kind to keep up with the news or are keen in this revolution stuff, you should know what other occurence also happened on that same day! Any ideas? Moving on...

So, as far as I can remember correctly, I got either a text or a call from a fellow YUI Lover to avoid going to the KLCC Park, the supposed meeting place for the YUI Lovers' gathering (but later went there anyway, but no outdoor morning jam as planned earlier), and must instead retreat at the hotel room of another fellow YUI Lover. I had no idea why he said that, so I did exactly what he asked me to do. As soon as I was in front of the hotel, I saw this.

I think I was WAY over there behind the VERY TIGHT crowd when this was taken.
I had no idea what this rally was all about at first. But then, days after that very joyful gathering of like-minded people who adores the awesomeness of the Japanese singer-songwriter (or was it shortly after the end of the outing?), I found out that the rally I saw was actually... the infamously notorious inaugural edition of the HINDRAF Rally (to know what the heck I'm talking about, click HERE for the Malay version and HERE for the English version)! If I only didn't follow what that fellow YUI Lover's orders to stay inside his room for a while, I would've probably got caught within THIS mess...

The view of the heated rally from the fellow YUI Lover's hotel room of the 15th floor.
...and would've never made it to hang out with these amazing peeps!

Awesome YUI Lovers! Hmm... I wonder how they look like now in 2012? :P
Whatever it is that rally was fighting for, you guys had your very own reasons why you guys did it, but it would suck for totally unrelated me who was only trying to get an awesome T-shirt to get dragged into someone else's fight for rights and got hurt for no reason. Anyways, the bottomline is I was in two VERY AWESOME events that occured on the same day! And I actually lived to tell the tale!

And why did I say that the rally is awesome? Because revolutions are cool (not being sarcastic here, unless the purpose of starting that revolution is totally wrong in the first place). Heck, even YUI herself injected some sort of revolt-themed lyrics in some of her songs! We were encouraged to fight for our rights, and there we were, fighting for our rights to meet up share the YUI love! Awesome shit is awesome!

P/S:
1. Pics were taken from HERE. Big ups to the veteran YUI Lover atheon (final pic, 4th person from right to left) for these pics!
2. I didn't know what influenced me to write this up, but it happened!
3. Yeah, that fat douche sitting on that sofa on the 3rd pic was definitely me... in glorious sweet 16 mode.

Flashback quote #2:

An excerpt of this entry:
"Believe it or not, humans are animals. No matter how claustrophobic they are, the desire to escape from confinement is always there; and that desire will stop at nothing until its true purpose is realised. And that purpose would be... to fuck up every single good there is on Earth."

Sekali lagi aku menjadi manusia yang aku sendiri tak berapa berkenan. Betullah; people change.

Flashback story #1:

An excerpt of this entry:
I just let some random grass cutting guy to come in and trim the lawn. And I wasted my RM10 on him. WHAT THE BUCK?! Yeah, I know it's stupid to let strangers in like that, but come to think of it, he did make a great job on trimming the grasses. You know what, this is like a lose-win situation. Sure, I lost my 10 bucks AND get a dose of dad's and bro's lectures/nags, but hey... at least the lawn looks good. :P
It was a stupid thing to do, but it's definitely worth it. :)
