This LIFE is semi-retired.

Hi! I'm updating this space to tell you guys that this second, seemingly, kinda, sort of unsuccessful attempt at deeply documenting my thoughts I call a blog will now be semi-retired. Facebook status updates and tweeting are a lot easier these days to blab about things like my views on life, society, and current events. Blogging, however, takes a little bit of thought. Heck, even THIS pinned post takes a while to be typed too.

The NARNIA division, however, I shall try and actively live it up; where I'll say good or crappy things about films, TV series, music, video games, events, or literature I have read... if this lazy-leech thing ever comes off of my brain, that is. 'Till then.

Roman picisan 'Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?'

This song has been playing in my head and my MP3 player for a while now, and I think it's a brilliant and beautiful song. The subtlety of the lyrics really makes me think about who or what is this guy talking about. It could be about anyone or anything that's near and dear to the listeners. Everytime I hear this song over and over again, I tend to keep on imagining about the origin of this song, and that would be 'Ada Apa Dengan Cinta?', a 2002 Indonesian romantic drama film by Rudi Soedjarwo. I thought I should give that movie a spin again, and now, I totally get what the flick is about, and I should say that it has been an emotional roller-coaster for me. Oh yeah, now that I'm in the writing course, I could (almost) totally relate with the main characters' interest in literature a little bit. :)

Director: Rudi Soedjarwo
Screenplay: Jujur Prananto, Prima Rusdi
Genre: Drama / romance
Starring: Dian Sastrowardoyo, Nicolas Saputra
Release: February 8, 2002
Studio: Miles Production
I remembered watching a glimpse of this movie when I was still on primary school and then its premiere on a local channel. Honestly, during the time, I remembered being totally clueless as to what they were saying at all, even when they had Malay subtitles on. Heck, I don't even get what they were doing in the film; everything seems so sophisticated and shit, and I think it still is. I guess I was too shallow to watch this flick back then, huh? I guess the reason of my clueless-ness is due to the film's strong backdrop (it involves Indonesian literature and a little bit of politics), nicely dramatised conflicts (it builds up quiet nicely and knows when's the right time for the audience to feel sad or angry or happy) and awesome score (what would you expect from Melly Goeslow, huh?). Even the title itself is clever. It's a play on words where Cinta could both mean love AND the main character's name, Cinta.

Did I mention the girls are totally damn cute? Really, how could I not see that MOST of them other than lead were so eye-pleasing?

I think that should cover on what I think about the movie, which leads up to this; Indonesians are definitely master of the arts. Even though the feel of most films seemed a little bit Westernised, they still hold dear to their culture. They are awesome when it comes to beautiful and soothing wordings; they managed to sound smart without being totally cheesy or trying too hard, since the script totally echoes the influence that the big time names in the Indonesian literature scene have brought them. They really know how to speak their language, I tell ya, and they are proud of it. They are not ashamed of talking in a 'literary' fashion, in fact, they really embrace it. Apart from that, they also know the right locations that lifts up a certain feel to shoot a scene in order to capture the emotion of the actors and play with the audiences' emotions. It makes them totally romantic at that. Haha.

So yeah, my actual point for this whole entry would be; Indonesians are totally romantic!

With all of the above being said, I'm looking forward to watch more Indonesian films like these which had that same sense of maturity and emotion-invoking storylines. Anyone here has a suggestion?

Of patching things up and posession.

Patching things up

Things are messed up, fucked up, totally screwed, out of control, out of our hands, damaged; etc.
Now tell me something; do you guys like seeing all of these things being treated as a totally crappy ongoing manganime series? Well? What do we do to make things right again? Fix it! But, if we choose to just let it roll our fucking guts with a fucking steamroller even though it hurts us, it's gonna hurt or piss others even more if it keeps on leaking! Seriously; we need to make things right again with whatever it is that needs a fix!

Posession
Each and every one of us has our own prized possession. We will like totally pour our heart and soul out into protecting what is ours for personal keeps. But should the time comes, in hour of others' needs, cut that bullshit on guarding your stuff, stop thinking about yourself and help a brother out. Who knows? Your most prized possessions might just make someone's day a little brighter. I know it's really, REALLY hard when you're attached to it, but if you love it so much, you have to give in.

P/S: I'M BACK! I'M WRITING BULL AGAIN! XD

Where to?

Friday-Saturday
To stay?
No can do.
Can't let my brother die out of exhaustion and mockery, OR letting myself fit on her shoes last Friday now, so I had to tag along. But it's great to see that my grandparents are doing fine.

Side notes:
- The iftar during my stay at Gamin was AWESOME!
- It was the attack of the old people (especially during the Friday and tarawikh prayers)! I mean... where are the young lads? Can't expect them oldies to be around forever, right?
- Man, they're a mouthful. But hey, I can't keep beating myself up for their messes forever, right?
- Me and bro were rambutan-capturing masters. B)
- The LEKAS highway? Not so lekas (quick).

Sunday
To sleep?
No can do.
Still have some stuff to take care of!

Side notes:
- The sahur sandwiches rocks!
- Mind mapping's done!

Now there are SCAMPERing, Genre Studies' romcom treatment, BEL's term paper drafting and CTU's paperwork assignments left to do.

Side... side notes:
- Haven't packed my stuff up yet.
- STILL drained after 2 days of hard work!

Ramadhan kat rumah aku punya story...

Aku nak habaq something. Weekend ni antara yang paling leet, sebab berada dalam bulan mulia ni.
Sambut Ramadhan kat rumah memang awesome, walaupun tak seindah dulu.

Hari satu;
  • Petang: Sampai TTDI Jaya je hujan. Bangang. Tapi takpe, hujan tu orang cakap pemberi rahmat
  • Buka puasa: Makan bihun, bubur lambuk, kuih pelita dan minum air tembikai.
  • Malam: Biasa je. Takde apa sangat.
Hari dua;
  • Siang: Kakak kitorang balik mengejut. Aku pelik kenapa aku terkejut sekali, padahal dia dah warning awal-awal.
  • Petang: Pergi bazar kat rumah kitorang dengan adik. Memang epik gak ah; punya lama kitorang survey makanan apa nak beli, alih-alih takdelah banyak sangat yang dapat beli.
  • Buka puasa: Makan murtabak, roti john, samosa, kurma dan minum air tebu dan air mata kucing. Orang dah beli air, nak jugak beli air lain. Tak faham doh. =.="
  • Malam: For the first time ever, kakak tercinta kitorang ikut kitorang sekali pergi terawih. WIN!
Nasib baik cukup. :)

Minggu depan balik lagi. KENA balik, sebab CSSB buat lagi annual buka puasa diorang. Sure gempak punya! OKlah. Nampak gayanya kenalah berangkat sekarang. A.B.A.H. aku yang comel tu kata adik aku dah 'halau' aku.

Feelings in a bulk.

Haven't been loading this bottomless cookie jar for days now. Haha. I guess I'll try and bulk things up in here!

- Days before today...
  • Thanks to a suggestion of a certain friend of mine, I ended up posting some blog entries on the Citizen's Blog section of The Star's official website. And I have to say; I LOVE IT THERE!
  • Have posted two entries so far and the response was pretty good. While the third one... it kinda effed up. I don't know what happened to it. It went missing. =.=" But I'll write it again soon. I still have the main ideas right here in my brain.
  • I'd say; it satisfies me to know that people actually liked my ideas. :)
- Today...
  • Went with my sister to pick up her Macbook which was serviced for about two weeks.
  • Since the service centre is very close to KLCC, we've decided to buy some pastries and awesome foreign sodas from Cold Storage for breakfast and indulge them at the KLCC Park after we picked up the Macbook. The park is awesome man (It's my first time exploring the park, thank you very much)! I think the management is trying to rip off NY's own Central Park back in the US (I've never been there, but I saw it a number of times on TV of course).
  • Sis suggested that we should head home from Pasar Seni instead of KL Sentral; due to a budget problem. But before we do, sis recommended that I have a taste of her favourite delicacy back during her diploma practical days; durian puffs. I've been wanting to have a taste, but every time I do, it always went out of stock. But since it's around 10 am back then, the stall was stocked! I grabbed a bite... and that creamy, tangy durian flesh mixed pretty well with the perfect consistency of the pastry. Oh yeah, you know that famous graffiti area a.k.a. the great drain of KL, right? Me and sis was hoping to snap a photo of us and the graffiti with sis' trusty fisheye lomocam, but fate hated us when sis eventually found a fresh film... when we got home. Bummer.
  • When I got home, my good old spam buddy from YUI-Lover suddenly talk to me again! And she's still the same old happy-go-lucky dead little girl I know. If you're reading this, yeah... I'm talking about YOU! :D
  • My verdict of today's happenings? We're happy, but SUPER-TIRED. And the atmosphere was very calming, even though it's hot as usual during the day. Today was indeed a beautiful day. :D
- Next week...
  • Is my final week in TTDI Jaya (Haha. My uni is like... 10 minutes from home! XD). It's time to face the third semester of my Artistic Writing program the next week after that. New classes, probably some new lecturers, same old wacky classmates, and hopefully... my good old roommates.
  • Can't wait for that. ^.^
